Sessions are delivered under the supervision and direction of school teaching staff.
Animal Presenations
We provide structured, curriculum-linked educational sessions designed to support and enhance classroom learning. Based at Smestow Wildlife Park in Staffordshire, The Animal Man delivers educational talks directly within schools, nurseries, and educational settings.
Our sessions are tailored to suit different age groups from Early Years through to Secondary School and are aligned with subjects ordinarily taught within the National Curriculum, including classification, habitats, ecosystems, and adaptation.
Sessions are delivered in a structured format with clear learning objectives and are adapted to support specific topics requested by teaching staff. Schools regularly incorporate our sessions into their planned teaching timetable, with multiple sessions delivered across the school day.
Live animals are used as a teaching aid to support understanding and engagement with the subject matter, covering a range of animal groups including invertebrates, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.
Curriculum-Based Educational Sessions
Our sessions are designed to reinforce and support classroom teaching through structured, topic-based learning. Delivered under the direction of teaching staff, each session aligns with specific curriculum areas and learning objectives.
Pupils are introduced to key scientific concepts such as classification, adaptation, habitats, and ecosystems through real-world examples. Where appropriate, animals may be carefully handled as part of the learning process, helping to support understanding and engagement.
Sessions are delivered in a controlled and structured environment, ensuring they complement formal teaching rather than replace it.
